Explore the world of the Trombone with a quartet of them! Meet the Sackbut, and hear Trombone music from the 1500s to the present. Members of the Early Music Guild will demonstrate the music and technical details of the Trombone Family. Trombone students are encouraged to attend, with an adult. An Afternoon of Japanese Music
We have the honor to bring together three highly trained and accomplished masters of this genre. Mitsuki Desai, a Master Koto performer, and Larry Tyrell, a Master Shakuhatchi performer will join with Dancers from the Fujinami Kai School of Portland to present a memorable event.
The Koto is a six foot lap harp of thirteen strings, plucked. The Shakuhatchi is a vertically played bamboo flute. The dancers are trained in the traditions of Kabuki choreography in the Fujima School, founded in 1769. Explanations, demonstrations and CDs will be available! This concert is part of the Beaverton International Festival. Beaverton Library Auditorium, Saturday, July 19th at 2 PM.

Music at Home
